Publisher and copyright

Building 28 operates getsyng.com and publishes and distributes Syng under license from Syng’s owner. Building 28’s role as publisher and distributor does not transfer ownership of Syng. Copyright in Syng and its components remains with the copyright holders identified in the source code, license materials, and distribution notices.

Open-source license

Syng’s source code is available under the GNU General Public License version 3. You may use, study, modify, and redistribute covered Syng code subject to that license’s terms.

An App Store distribution exception grants additional permission under GPLv3 section 7 for distribution through qualifying application stores. It does not reduce recipients’ GPL rights or grant rights in third-party components.

Third-party components

Syng includes third-party software, data, fonts, and other materials. Those components remain governed by their own copyright notices and license terms, which may differ from Syng’s license. See the in-app Acknowledgements screen and the repository’s third-party acknowledgements.

This website uses Poppins and DM Sans, distributed under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1.

Distribution scope

Building 28’s distribution through getsyng.com is directed to people in the United States and is not offered or directed to people in the European Union or European Economic Area. No geofencing is used. This statement describes Building 28’s distribution scope; it does not limit rights that recipients receive under the GPL or control independent redistribution by other people.

Warranty

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Syng is provided without warranty, as described in the GPL. The authors and copyright holders are not liable for damages arising from its use except where applicable law or a written agreement requires otherwise.
